Manchester United have received a much-needed lift as manager Ruben Amorim confirmed that defenders Harry Maguire and Leny Yoro are set to return from injury ahead of Tuesday’s Premier League match against Nottingham Forest. The news comes as United look to solidify their position in the table amid a demanding run of fixtures.
Yoro, who has faced several setbacks since his summer move from Lille, has been out since March 9 after suffering a foot injury during a 1-1 draw with Arsenal. Maguire, meanwhile, has been sidelined with a calf issue since late February. Amorim stated both players are now fit and available for selection, providing a timely boost to a defense that has been stretched thin in recent weeks (Smith, ESPN, 2025).
Amorim also offered a positive update on 18-year-old Ayden Heaven, who was stretchered off in United’s 3-0 win over Leicester City. The injury is “not so serious,” and Heaven is expected to return before the season ends.
Other squad updates include Luke Shaw, who has resumed training but is still building match fitness, and Mason Mount, who is feeling better after recent struggles. Youngster Kobbie Mainoo is nearing full readiness, while Jonny Evans remains in recovery and Lisandro Martínez continues to be unavailable.
Amorim also praised Marcus Rashford, currently on loan at Aston Villa, for scoring his first goals in their FA Cup quarterfinal win over Preston. He noted that Rashford’s success reflects well on United’s development strategy.
With key players returning, United fans will hope for a strong showing as the Red Devils prepare to take on third-placed Forest.
